About David Parker
 Dr. David Parker with some of the subjects of his work.
David L. Parker, M.D., M.P.H., is a medical epidemiologist and physician at the Park Nicollet Clinic. He conducts research on a wide range of topics related to worker health and safety. His interest in photographing working children grew out of his research on the effects of work on adolescents.
Parker earned his bachelor's degree and doctor of medicine from the University of New Mexico and his master of public health from the University of Michigan. He also worked for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the Epidemic Intelligence Service.
He has exhibited photographs widely in galleries and museums throughout the United States. His work has also been published in numerous magazines and newspapers. He lectures frequently on issues related to child labor and human rights.
