Five New Countries Added to Child Labor Database

The University of Iowa Center for Human Rights (UICHR) is pleased to announce that another five countries have been added to the Child Labor Research Initiative Database. Laws related to child labor from the Czech Republic, Paraguay, Russia, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe are now available. The laws are available in English and in the original language. With this addition, there are now 15 countries in the database.
The Child Labor Research Initiative (CLRI) is a UICHR project under contract with the U.S. Department of Labor. One major goal of the project is to construct and maintain an internet database of national legislation related to child labor. To begin this initiative, the International Labor Organization, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the UICHR have identified 25 priority countries. The list includes: Brazil, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Gambia, Ghana, India, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Paraguay, Philippines, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.
