About UIMT:
University of Iowa Mock Trial is a competitive student organization focused on the art of mock trial. Mock trial is a combination of public speaking, forensics, drama, debate, and trial advocacy. Our organization is open to all majors and all undergraduate students. While any student may join the organization, our current competing roster is limited to 50 students. Students are required to tryout to be selected for the competing roster.
Each season we receive case materials from the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) and compete around the country at invitational touranments. Over the last ten years, UIMT has established itself as one of the premier mock trial teams in the country. Our annual invitational tournament, the Cornshucker Challenge, is one of the most competitive in the nation.
Please note: Our season runs from September through mid-second semester. If you are interested in joining the team, please contact us before the season starts. Information re: joining the team can be found here.
