Amanda Watkins

I am a first-year graduate student. The VIGRE traineeship has given me the opportunity to get more involved in the department. I am a co-organizer of the Professional Development Seminar and I am a volunteer tutor for students at a local high school. In the Spring, I will be working with another graduate student on his or her research, giving me a taste of what research will be like. As a first-year VIGRE trainee, my focus is mainly on my coursework. Because I am not teaching this year, I am able to put that extra effort into my classes, and use the extra time to take on the projects I mentioned.
In my free time I love to read and paint.
