During my VIGRE year I helped organize a linear algebra enrichment seminar, volunteered my time at a high school math competition and the Sonia Kovelevsky Day event, and served as Vice Chair and later General Liaison for the Math Grad Board. I find the climate in our math department to be very dynamic, inviting and supportive, and I'm glad to have opportunities to contribute to this climate. My academic interests are in applied mathematics - specifically in math modeling of cardiac electrophysiology. The time I have outside of research and teaching, I spend traveling and training for triathlons.
