Langlands functoriality plays a central role in modern Number Theory. It lies at the crossroads of Automorphic Forms and Representation Theory. My current research involves understanding L-functions attached to automorphic representations of a split reductive algebraic group over a global function field. This has already led me to establish a Langlands functorial lift from the split classical groups to an appropriate general linear group.
