This presentation interposes irreverent humor with unpleasant reality. Mr. Katz will help stimulate dialogue between the sexes by helping to illuminate how the problems of individual women and men are linked to learger social forces. The presentation is designed for college students, high-school varsity athletes and their coaches, and members of youth leadership organizations. |
Jackson Katz |
Jackson Katz, Ed. M., is an internationally recognized author and filmmaker, known for his ground-breaking work in the field of gender violence prevention education with men and boys. He is the co-founder of the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) program, the leading gender violence prevention program in professional and college athletics. He is the creator of educational videos including Tough Guise: Violence, Media, and the Crisis in Masculinity (2000), Wrestling with Manhood (2002), and Spin the Bottle: Sex, Lies, and Alcohol (2004). His book, The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and How All Men Can Help, was published in 2006. |
